Weekend staff at Mid-Michigan NBC affiliate WEYI experienced quite a scare during their 6pm broadcast this afternoon. A light bulb explosion sparked a fire in the studio.
Meteorologist Kevin Usealman described the situation as "wild", but said it was very brief. He explained that the bulb was located above the weather center computers. Anchor Jane Park stated that Kevin had the fire under control.
After an emergency commercial break, the newscast continued. Nobody was hurt.
