The February 9th Michigan Count Day numbers have been released, and local schools did not see a turn-around with the latest count.
Arenac Eastern School District, expected to remain with the same numbers as last count day, lost 9 students. Augres-Sims School District lost 10, and Arenac County's largest school district, Standish-Sterling, lost a whopping 38.
The Arenac County Independent reports that these school districts could lose programs due to the lack of students, and Arenac Eastern Superintendent William Grusecki told them quote "The last thing we'd want to cut is school programs."
