Bay County (MarkHeidemanTV/WJRT) -- A total of eight bridges are currently closed in Bay County due to extreme flooding.
Three bridges in Fraser Township, two in Pinconning Township, and one each in Beaver Township, Mt. Forest Township, and Gibson Township are currently not in use due to the closures.
According to WJRT, a federal mandate forces local road commissions to close the bridges when the water rises to a certain level.
The flooding is caused by the melting of snow and the excessive rain Mid-Michigan has been experiencing.
