On June 6th, the Arenac County Drain Commission began work on installing a larger drain pipe in the Dead Branch Drain.
Larry Davis from the commission told the Arenac County Independent that a six-foot tube will be replaced by a twelve-foot tube. The replacement is expected to speed up water flow which will help farmers with their crops.
The Dead Branch Drain will be on the tax rolls for five years, raising ten thousand dollars each year.
The Dead Branch Drain hasn’t been on the tax roll in 30 years.
